My Story

My name is Christy Brewer and I am an artist living and working in Austin, TX. I first became interested in art at a very early age watching my grandfather paint. Throughout my life, art in various forms has been a consistent theme, hobby, and companion. An art class (or two or three) was never missing from my high school or college schedule, and I received a minor in Fine Arts from the University of Montana. The majority of my career has been working in marketing in Texas.

As an artist, my focus is painting, with my work primarily being abstract. I prefer to work in acrylics, on larger canvases, and like to create textures and layers, building up color and experimenting with various texture mediums. My goal is to create paintings that feel multi-dimensional. I find inspiration in color—with my favorite color being red. I rarely begin painting with a plan, and am always excited to see what I come up with.
